slim prickman

haye was and all ways will be a total prick.

Haye is the biggest conman ever to get into the ring, he will be remembered for losing to wlad then moaning about his toe, and running from fury who in my eyes would of been his easiest fight since Harrison.

Posted November 20, 2013 5:22 am

While Haye has his shoulder surgery, maybe he can have surgery for that POOR TOE! AH HA HA HA HA!

Posted November 20, 2013 3:33 am

@ DMX: What am I looking for in a boxer?! LOL. Class, which is something that British boxers DON’T have at all these days. Heart is another thing I’m looking for. Haye doesn’t have either one.
@ Tark: I DO agree with you that Haye is an excellent boxer-puncher with really good speed, however, when you have the balls of a squirrel, all the talent in the world won’t do you any good. Haye COULD be outstanding, if only he’d grow a set of balls.

Posted November 20, 2013 3:32 am

Haye was in Germany last week not really for a shoulder operation, but to see Vitali’s business manager, I’m amazed nobody on any forum has realised that. Haye is fighting Vitali in late spring 2014. After that, they both retire. Haye is a disgrace.

Posted November 20, 2013 2:18 am

I’ve said this before, Haye has talent, but he is not durable enough to fight at heavyweight.

John “The Heat” D’Verarosa

Too bad the steroids turned against Haye. It’s not uncommon for juiced athletes to overtrain and not sense the early signs of a serious injury coming on in a wide variety of sports. Boxing is no exception to this problem. Tark was right that Haye was a talented fighter – fast and with both boxing skills and serious power, he’ll be missed by a good many.

Posted November 19, 2013 4:25 pm

Let us stop the name-calling. That is silly and unworthy of adults. I am sorry for my bad attitude of before, it was uncalled for. Sorry, dude.

“I don’t really think Haye is an outstanding boxer at all. He’s just flashy that’s all.”

Norris, Leonard, Ali, Camacho, Hamed, and Roy Jones were examples of flashy boxers… Some of the ring antics they pulled backfired on them.

Mayweather, Ward, Golovkin, Kovalev, Mikey Garcia, Vitali, and Haye are technicians. They’re not flashy. They focused on the fight and the things they needed to do to win the fight.

Haye didn’t always win. He doesn’t have the best resume. He didn’t make the best use of his talent. He came down with a lot of pesky injuries. The stars didn’t line up for him a lot of times. He behaved like an azzhole at times … But when you strip everything else away he was a damned good boxer-puncher by the time he fought Chisora… Because of all the injuries he just couldn’t keep his career rolling.

I don’t really think Haye is an outstanding boxer at all. He’s just flashy that’s all. He has the heart- well he really doesn’t have any heart at all. He has no class whatsoever. The way he lies, maybe he can be a politician. He’d be great at that. OR, he could be a personal injury lawyer, and represent people with broken toes!

If the time and money is right Haye will be back, but Fury needs to move on.I wouldnt be shocked to see Haye in a year or two back in the ring if he knows it could lead to a quick title shot, with a big payday. But the best of luck to Fury who was at least willing to step-up here and who trained really hard for this fight.

I hope Chisora wasn’t Haye’s last fight… I liked Haye because he’s one of the few heavyweights who can box and punch — can box upside… downside… inside… and outside.. Is an all-around boxer and comes into the ring in outstanding condition… he trains harder than anyone and that may be why he gets injured so much… He can train hard, but shouldn’t push himself to extremes where he’s always injuring himself in training camp.

He says he trains so hard because he’s giving up 40 pounds and needs to be faster and stronger… That’s crazy… Beyond a certain point your body is going to break or tear — so you need a little more relaxed approach.

After Haye cancelled the 28 September date with Fury, he would have known he had a shoulder operation less than two months later. Actually, why did Haye even agree to a 28 September date with Fury to begin with if he had an ongoing shoulder issue? This stinks. I don’t buy it. Haye is scared of Fury. Best that Haye retires so we don’t have to put up with this sort of thing from him any longer.

Posted November 18, 2013 9:29 am

The article is a bit harsh. I always found Haye abrasive, but there is no questioning his talent. An injury requiring surgery is a serious matter. One doesn’t go under the knife to get out of a fight. I like Fury, but I thought Haye was a favorite to win this fight. It is a tough break for both boxers, as there was a lot of money to be made, but Haye has been talking retirement for years now, so it seems this will be the end.

Come February Tyson Fury wouldn’t have fought for 10 months which just isn’t good enough for a so called serious contender. He needs to be active at least 5 times per year. He may be the #1 H/W in the UK but still has to prove his status at European level.

California i did not say vitali is a ducker he just does not like getting in the ring with guys his own height. His entire career he only faced 1 guy his height and that was a 12 round war. Lewis was also a war. Vitali’s still works will against short fat guys and blown up cruisers. Cant see him getting in the ring with fury or even the fraud wilder. Wlad on the other hand does very well against guys his height

Posted November 18, 2013 4:43 am

I think anyone with even a passing knowledge of the sport knows that Fury was going to get beaten, soundly! On the other hand, Haye has behaved like prat and does himself and his legacy no favours with silly stunts like this. No doubt in my mind he would’ve ko’d Fury though.

Posted November 18, 2013 4:08 am

Big Rich

Pity, I was looking forward to seeing Haye KO Fury. I can see why they are upset though. If you look at Andre Ward he had 14 months out. If Haye was to do the same he would be closer to 35 with 2 and a half years out of the ring.
So I can see why he would retire.
To be honest apart from fighting Wlad and blaming his toe, he has had a pretty good career, 2 weight world champ and took Wlad the distance, Wlad fought him very wary of Haye’s power, considering he is what we would call a small HW.
To be honest for those who think Fury would have won. Just compare 2 things. Haye KO’d Chisora who went the distance with Vitali and then Fury was Knocked down by feather fisted Steve Cunningham.

Posted November 18, 2013 3:37 am

Haye is now unofficially “has been”. For two years, at least, as another poster said below. I am Expecting a hyped up return.

Too many tricks and words by Haye, too little fights in his career. Many fights had some controversies. Lets just remember Harrison – fights a friend with possible betting scam. Wlad and Vitaly sagas.

As G.R.R. Martin said “A prophecy is like a treacherous woman. She takes your member in her mouth, and you moan with the pleasure of it and think, how sweet, how fine, how good this is… and then her teeth snap shut”. Haye made us hope for great fights, it all turned into tepid waiting.

This kind of crap happens… Vitali had a fight postponed 4 times in a row because of injuries—and eventually he got so disgusted he retired… Wladimir suffered 2 injuries in a row training for Chisora… Vitali was out for 4 years—Wladimir dropped the Chisora fight altogether… Vitali has had better luck in 10 straight fights until his recent hand injury… Some guys work out real hard, and injure themselves more than others.

Andre Ward just came off a 14 month layoff because of shoulder surgery… There’s no law that says you can’t suffer 3 or 4 injuries in a row that require surgery or a fight postponment … It rotten luck, but luck comes in more than one variety.

I hope Haye makes a statement and doesn’t retire because of this. He’s a great fighter who still has a future.

I think he’d rather be a TV personality or something. Tony I would have to disagree and say that Haye is behind Vitali Klitschko, even semi retired at 43 years old I think Vitali would comfortably beat Haye. I gave Haye a punchers chance against Wlad cause he’s shown more weakness throughout his career and his punch resistance was suspect. I’m not 100% that Haye would beat Pulev either.

If Fury can get Stiverne in the ring, it’ll either be an eliminator for a shot at Vitali or, more likely, for the belt that Vitali will vacate next month. So I guess that Fury really could be the next Heavyweight champ.

Haye is a joke and has paid the doctor offf. He will be back in the ring in 2 years time claiming his shoulder to be miraculoisly healed. Tyson Fury is about to dominate the heavyweight division

-Ozzy Haye is a fake Ass hype from day one. If you are having problems with your shoulder why hide and Go gave surgery behind your opponent back and now announced that the Dr recommend for you to retire..Haye should be legally hold responsible for misleading fans.

I agree with ya mook, I was hoping to see Haye flattin’ Wilder

If the quotes attributed to Fury and Hennessey are correct then they are deluded retards without a single ounce of class in either of them. Haye has been told by the German specialist who operated on his shoulder that he should retire. Only someone with the mentality of a child would suggest that this was an outcome Haye wanted even on a temporary basis. Good luck to Haye in his recovery and in whatever new career he chooses in the future.

Mick the Marmalizer

Fury’s career has been put on hold for months & he needs to be as active as possible if he’s to progress. A fight before Xmas would do him no halm!

shame. very, very good career bu any standards, but haye could have been so much more.
