The only good thing to come out of this is Jeff Fenech losing all his money and crying on TV about it
Mosely is right, if this had gone to the scorecards it would have been fixed
Not that this has anything to do with either fighter
It’s just all the Gangsters and Bike Gangs that control Australian Boxing

Mundine and Fenech have ALWAYS hated one another
So WHY would Fenech put his money into this Promotion . . . . . Unless . . . .

“Oh damn, I really wanted to see Anthony Mundine vs Sugar Shane Mosley!” – Said nobody ever.

I thought i’d weigh in on this since i’ve been back to this article twice now… I hope Mundine finds someone to fight soon, even if a bum, so we can see how his boxing skill is looking, and not let his good condition (assuming) go to waste back at the gym. I think a boxer, particularly Mundine, should stay active. We see how important experience is. My name is Fedor, I could break your arm or knock you out. Gracie JiuJitsu.

Ray Ray

This fight was was promoted mainly by Golden Boy not Mundine….Does Jeff Fenech get the 400 grand back which he threw in 2 get this fight in Oz….id doubt it. I thought Shane was better than that…

D Duck… Dont get me wrong I’m a Perth boy and a Danny Green fan, I just don’t think he should have ever fought at super middle, he was always weight drained at the weight class yes he did have some success and was ripped off in the first fight against Bayer. Danny did the best one could ever do with his skill set.
Mundines Managment Team stuffed up by not going through their normal promotional methods. Buy putting Vlad in charge they allowed the game to be changed. Vlad never had a problem promoting Kostya Tzyu because his name alone did the job. Mosely is not a completly shot fighter but is by no means the name he once was and Mundine has no name on the world stage , the fight did not sell, bugger all PPV and bugger all seats sold. Mosely is not the draw he was, Vlad miscalculated how much value the fight was worth

Fight had no interest. Now if only the same could happen to Hopkins. Why don’t these guys just go to a bar and charge for autographs.

DMX – Mundine did fight most of his career at super middle. Cant see what the problem is when Mosley is natural WW.

Posted October 22, 2013 6:24 pm

Caparello is a Light Heavyweight
Mundine is a Light Middleweight
How would that work?

Posted October 22, 2013 6:07 pm

why cant Mundine fight some local talent? Caparello is only one division up from his natural division of super middle or see if he can get Sakio Bika, Im sure if he was offered 1/3 of the money Mosley was he would jump at the chance, just saying..

Breach of Youtube

Where’s the video.

Mosely still gets to keep the $300k advance he got as that was non refundable so I think the big news here is that someone is actually willing to pay $300k to see Shane Mosley fight. In 2013!!!

Wish I could get paid in full before I do the work ! Wants 1 million upfront thinks he is Shane money Mosley

Posted October 22, 2013 7:03 am

No, Azuma got ripped off the same way from Fenech. He never got his money. Shane was smart enough NOT to fight first then get ripped off. I can’t believe they tried this again!

d duck

hey nathan danny was fighting at his regular weight in his division super middle weight where he had been very sucessfull draining his weight like hundreds of boxers yes his hair cut sucked but he was still an awsome fighter and an australian legend

no way mundine promotions stuffs up this bad

Before people badger the Mundine camp, let’s keep in in perspective, that Anthony and Khoder were not running this fight behind the scenes. It is Vlad. Vlad is to answer for this enormous stuff up. This is so so bad I am at a loss for words, really. Had Khoder and Anthony stuck to their formula I really think things would have worked out, small tickets sales or not. I believe Mundine would have paid out his rear end to make it happen had he know what Vlad was doing, in screwing Mosley over.

Posted October 22, 2013 2:16 am

Nathan, you are spot on. What did the Mundine camp think was going to happen when they tried a 70% pay decrease. And especially with a boxing superstar like Mosley who has top lawyers and a water tight contract. AND traveled all the way to Australia. I hope he keeps Fenech’s $300,000 for out of pocket expenses. Disgrace. And i was looking forward to this fight.

Mundine’s Promoters and Management team have stuffed up again. They put him in the ring with Ottke when he wasn’t ready, put him in the ring as a publicity stunt against a reality TV show winner and got KTFO, didn’t put him in the ring with Trout when they had the opportunity and should of.
Mundine had potential to be a good fighter. Athletically gifted, fantastic reflexes, fast hands, pretty good skills … but many things got in the way. The “Mans ego and mouth for a start .His only claim to fame is beating a weight drained “B” level fighter with a terrible haircut in Danny Green on points in 07. He has not other names on his resume (well he does have Ottke and Kessler but he lost both of those)

Noone was buying the tickets or PPV – it was going to bust out so the promoters probably tried to screw him on his guarantee.

Exiled Yank

I wonder what happened to make SSM pull out. It must have been big because SSM is always up for a fight, even at this stage of his career.
