based on recent photos of both fighters,it looks like Sergio has been working on his 6 pack, while Jr. has been downing a lot of 6 packs? could be the difference in this bout?

So…if Chavez was fighting me the fight would sell out? I don’t think so

Martinez will get back at both cheating Chavez’s by beating Jr. bloody…. Give Jr. a few good ones and say, “That was for your dad’s phony win over Sweet Pea” you piece…”

Martinez will pay for the way he disrespected Chavez Sr. mfer should have left him out of it. It’s personal on another level because of his dorty mouth, Chavez by Knockout.

I’ll give this one to Chavez. Sergio is not very dominant lately and he can be stopped with a skilled fighter with a big punch. I hope Julio has something up his sleeve. Youth is on his side too.

not every fighter turns pro at 13/14 like Pipino or is trying out for the Olympic team at 17 like Tyson. Jr’s. first pro fight occured when he was 17 withOut any amateur career. otherwise, guys like Pipino and Tyson are extraordinary exceptions. Jr. is simply the “son of a legend” whose fought his way to Martinez’s doorstep with all deliberate speed and every 20-something is a youngster to me, son . . .

This is the biggest middleweight fight since Hopkins vs Trinidad… Well…okay, I forgot Hopkins vs De La Hoya… In those 2 blockbuster events, old man B-Hop was bigger, stronger, faster, and more skilled than either the undefeated Tito or the motor-mouthed yapper, De La Hoya… This time old man Martinez is smaller and shorter, but retains all the other advantages Hopkins had. I always liked the contemptuous, sneering young Chavez until the buildup for this fight. He’s a little too big for his britches and he owns far from finished skills.

Being the worlds greatest man lover I’d screw Josesito a 2nd time too.

Wrong article bruh!

That’s because he’s FINALLY stepping up! If it was against Joe Schmoe it would be FAR, FAR different. He obviously has A LOT to do with it, of course (due to his name), but to say (suggest or imply) Martinez didn’t make it an even bigger event is STUPID!

I boldly predict that I will suck the life out of whoever wins this fight in the dressing room. I would also like a piece of Canelo pie. I am the greatest on my knees man lover boxing quicker picker’er ever.

It’ll be interesting to see if Josesito can also fk up Goldenfraudes attempt to screw him a second time… I’ll be rooting for the guy.. always root for the underdog..

I do give Chavez Jr. Credit for taking the fight.. he atleast is fighting someone we all agree is one of the toughest opponents he could have chosen at his weight class.. I believe Martinez is just too naturally skilled and fast for Chavez Jr. who is very slow and plodding… I predict Chavez Jr. will get beaten badly over the course of the fight.. If he wins I’ll give him credit.. still don’t like that he comes in 20+lbs heavier then his opponents but atleast he’s not going looking for fighters two weight divisions lighter then his… Should be a good night of Boxing.. Where’s Mex?

Neil (pomy)

I am expect Martinez to “Lacyfy” Chavez. Chavez is a fighter that has been built-up by TV (just like Lacy was) and has ejoyed hand-picked opponents throughout his career. Chavez may be a decent fighter …. but Martinez is levels above.

At some point I fully expect Chavez to walk onto a Martines counter-punch and its over. Martinez by knockout … he is a different level to Chavez.

I’m looking 4ward 2 this 1 I’m leaning 2ward Sergio but Chavez has alot of things I’n his favour, I just hope there’s no funny business and it’s a gd honest tussle

Use common sense

Uhh in case you haven’t notices it CHAVEZ who’s selling the fight, Martinez couldn’t do a PPV if his life depended on it

Posted September 12, 2012 3:14 am

Common sense

Whenver you decide to take you blinders off it’s Chavez who’s selling this fight

Posted September 12, 2012 3:12 am

Arum you retarded old man, he stated Sergio couldn’t sell fights .

Posted September 12, 2012 2:28 am

Sergio will win by KO.

Posted September 12, 2012 2:23 am

It’s almost shocking that this fight is actually taking place. I mean, really, who knows what will happen. This is one of those fights were you really just don’t know what will happen. Leaning on Martinez though.

The Mad Scientist

Can’t wait for this fight, win or lose Im rooting for Chavez Jr all the way..hopefully he doest get blown out the water like some would like to think or hope..if so, what a shame but my guess is Junior knows what’s at stake and he’ll be up for this come fight time..too much pride and bloodline for Chavez Jr to go out like a punk..add youth, size, strength, toughness and what he stands to gain if he wins and I say that’s enough motivation for the kid to fight the fight of his life even if it means walking through remains to be seen but we ain’t scared,,War Chavez Jr!

What Ilike about this fight is chevez know what he has to do, he said it, that to make Martinez slug it out, and watch Martinez is a very pridefull guy, bet you Martinez pride will not let Chavez out slug him . he usually box and counter punch and wear his opponate down first. But Chavez style with hands high and constantly moving forward and is a hard counter puncher who pretty accurate, and isn’t afraid of a jab ,means he should be in martinez zone From start,. Martinez does move his head , but his problem after he counter he duck down and is perfect For Chavez body punch who might gets heads also. Think martinez pride will lose him this one. But who knows.
Thanks for the new platform, Iam not block out now.

This “youngster”? Chavez is 26 years old and has over 40 professional fights….Pipino Cuevas was the legitimate welterweight champion of the world at 17 years of age. Tyson at 20, that’s young for boxing. 26 years of age in boxing you are fully grown and should not be shielded from anyone.

“Chávez Jr. vs. Martínez will become the highest-attended boxing event in the history of the Thomas & Mack Center . . .” win or lose, Jr’s. timing for this matchup couldn’t have been better. he saved his best performances for the build-up and now has a legitimate shot to upset undisputed champion. this youngster has managed his career like a seasoned pro. making those fools who were previously insisting on premature showdowns look like rank amateurs Aaand Haters. win or lose, Jr. has already made the most and history out of what he was born with.

Chicago guy

Oskie dela Fishnet will be jealous again. Oskie’s strategy doesn’t work to affect the ticket sell of JCCjr/Martinez fight of having the fight of Camelo Alvarez/Lopez the same date.

This makes me very happy!!! Fantastic to see fight fans stepping up and selling out large arenas like the T&M for big fights!!! Hopefully we will see more and more of this.

What about a draw? Is it a push in the event of a draw? thanks ahead.

Posted September 11, 2012 10:49 pm

Anybody know why the Wynn Encore website says the event starts at 4pm? I don’t wanna sit in the theater for 2 hours, is there gonna be extra undercard fights?

Go Chavez!

Looks like the fix is in. Adalaide and Stanley suck ass. I think Jose has asked the NSAC to remove Stanley.
