Euro Boxing Roundup: Abraham Back In Training, Vidoz Vs Percovic

13.01.07 - By Per Ake Persson: IBF middleweight titleholder Arthur Abraham is now back in full training, reports German paper Bild Zeitung. No sparring yet though. Abraham expects to be able to fight at the end of April and says he wants a rematch with Edison Miranda.

Former EBU heavy champ Paolo Vidoz takes on Croatian Ivica Percovic January 27 in Cividale del Friuli. Vidoz is currently in London sparring with John McDermott..

Alexei Varakin is out and is replaced by Daniel Peret for today´s show in Halle / Saale. Peret will take on Gbenga Oloukun in a heavyweight fight scheduled for six on the undercard to Halmich vs Kempf.

Armand Krajnc was nothing short of furious at the Swedish probox commission which denied him a license to fight on the show January 27 in Gothenburg. The local edition of Expressen revealed that the commission had been split in their votes with Bjorn Rosengren using his extra vote as chairman to make the final decision to deny Krajnc a license. Rosengren had previously stated that Armand could well use his German license - however as the commission made a decision where they wanted all the Swedish fighters to have a Swedish license he pretty much got his back against the wall and had to go by the book. Media reports that 2700 of the around 12 000 tickets had been sold by yesterday for the show at Scandinavium.
