Duncan Signs Uganda’s Hottest Boxing Prospect

08.11.06 - Stuart Duncan today announced he has signed Uganda’s hottest prospect Badru “The Striker” Lusambya to a long term deal that will see him training out of Australia under the watchful eye of Dave Hedgcock & Ray Giles. Campaigning at Jnr Middleweight Bardu has notched up 14 wins from 14 outings with 13 KO’s. The big punching Ugandan had 36 amateur fights winning them all . Badru will reside and train from Duncan’s training Camp “Troopers” in the Grampian Mountain Ranges in Victoria and commute to Melbourne for sparring..

“It couldn’t have happened at a better time said Duncan, he is perfect sparring for stable mate Sam Soliman and is fit enough to keep up with him. They will be training together . According to Soliman’s trainer “The Rock” Hedgcock “this is kid is as fit as Sammy and can wack, at 23yo I am confident I can refine his style incorporating the good use of angles that makes Sammy style so awkward.

Badru was groomed from a stable in Uganda that has produced some fine Jnr Middleweight Champions including the big hitting John “the beast” Mugabi ~ 5 time WBA Champ Ayub Kalule & Kassim “The Dream” Ouma.

Where to from here ? On the radar are names like Commonwealth Champ Brit Bradley Pryce ~ OPBF Champ Japanese Champ Crazy Kim ~ WBC rated # 8 Tshiharu Kaneyama for the vacant WBC International Title ~ WBC World Youth Champ Ante Bilic are a couple we are looking at said Duncan. Daniel Dawson – Shannan Taylor or any other Australian Jnr Middleweight that wants to take him on. Badru has an attitude like that of Soliman says Duncan AAA “Anyone – Anywhere – Anytime”. I have asked Dan Goossen to look at opponents including Yuri Foreman ~ Mohammad Said ~ JC Candelo ~ Angel Hernandez and others as potential opponents in the USA.
