The city of Pontedera, Italy, will honor the Mazzinghi brothers, Guido and Sandro, by naming a square after Guido and an artist, Giovanni Ajello, is currently working on a statue in bronze showing Sandro Mazzinghi, an all-time great in European boxing, standing over a fallen opponent.

Danish feather Spend Abazi takes on Venezuelan Fernando Guevara on the undercard to Mock vs Selini November 3 in Skive. Abazi have according to a press release from Team Palle been challenged by Jagdar Abdulla, who´s a freelancer these days after being released from his contract by Frank Maloney. Abazi feels however his training partner Ervis Masha is more suitable for Abdulla at this stage of their respective careers.

Polish heavy Albert Sosnowski goes for the vacant WBF title against Australian Lawrence Tauasa November 4 in Kempton Park, South Africa. On the same bill Hungarian cruiser Gyorgi Hidvegi defends the WBF bubble against South African Danie Venter.

It will be Serbian opponents for Norwegians Reidar Walstad and Kim Jensen November 3 in Torrevieja, Spain. Walstad fight Nikolai Michailov at superbantam while Jensen, a lightheavy, square off against Misa Nikolic.

Supermiddle Rudy Markussen could be returning to the ring already November 24. Markussen, the then # 1 ranked WBO challenger, suffered an upset loss to Russian Sergey Tatevosyan October 14 in Copenhagen after must be described as a mental breakdown. With Selini off the Skive bill Markussen could be fighting the winner of Mock vs tba.

Sauerland Event promotes its final show of 2006 December 16 in Kempten. No word on headliner yet.

Norwegian jr welter Geir Inge Jorgensen, a disputed loser to Danish lightweight Martin Kristjansen last time out, could be fighting in Chicago December 1.

Dutch lightweight Innocent Anyanwu fights a six-rounder in Glabbeek, Belgium, November 11. Innocent began his career with the Firm in Amsterdam but they have gone out of business.

IBF Int´l jr light champ Karim Chakim takes on Italian Ivan Fiorletta December 1 in Terni. Chakim beat Fiorletta for the vacant title in July.
