The presence of inflammation is a very frequent occurrence for boxers immediately following a fight. Due to the lack of healing time between now and October 14 , InterBox has decided that as a precautionary measure, Bute will not box until the next InterBox Gala, scheduled for December 1 2006 at the Bell Centre.
”Lucian could probably fight on October 14th, but this would be an unnecessary risk that frankly we are not willing to take. Lucian is positioned at the top of the rankings and is very close to major fights. A significant injury at this point of his career could considerably slow his course towards a world title. Lucian is our headliner, and nothing should be left to chance” declares Stephan Larouche, head InterBox trainer.
InterBox contacted Team Palle earlier today to announce the change of plan. InterBox retains nevertheless the exclusive TV rights for Canada of the Kessler/Beyer bout, and the option for InterBox to place one of its boxers on the
undercard is still a go.
