Holyfield scores second-round TKO in comeback

19.08.06 - Former heavyweight champion Evander Holyfield scored a second-round knockout over journeyman Jeremy Bates on Friday in Dallas. The 43-year-old Holyfield, who stepped into the ring for the first time since November 13, 2004 when he lost a 12-round unanimous decision to Larry Donald, picked up his first victory in more than four years. Holyfield improves his record to 39-8-2. Bates, an insurance salesman, fell to 21-12-1.
