Welliver vs Wood added to July 29 Jones-Badi PPV

BOISE, Idaho (June 7, 2006) – Popular heavyweight Chauncy “Hillyard Hammer” Welliver and veteran Frank Wood have agreed in principle, pending the former’s scheduled match this weekend, to fight each other on the July 29th “Hold Nothing Back!” pay-per-view event for the vacant WBC Continental Americas title at the Qwest Arena in Boise, Idaho..

Five-time world champion Roy Jones, Jr. (49-4, 38 KOs) challenges North American Boxing Organization light heavyweight champion Prince Badi “The Boxing Prince” Ajamu (25-2-1, 14 KOs) in the 12-round main event headlining “Hold Nothing Back!” presented by Xyience, Inc. in association with Sports and Entertainment Media, Inc.

“Hold Nothing Back!” will be broadcast live in North America on cable and satellite PPV beginning at 9 PM ET/6 PM PT. The event is being produced and distributed for North American Pay Per View by Integrated Sports and will be available in more than 50-million homes in the United States and Canada via InDemand, TVN, DirecTV & Dish Network in the US and Viewer’s Choice & Bell ExpressVu in Canada. The suggested retail price for the PPV telecast is only $24.95.

Welliver (29-3-3, 11 KOs), who fights out of Spokane (WA), is matched this Saturday night against Chad Van Sickle in Rochester (WA) for the vacant Northwest Boxing Association heavyweight title. Welliver, riding a 14-fight unbeaten streak dating back to 2002, has beaten Billy Zumbrun and King Ipitan, among the more notables.

Wood (26-3, 18 KOs), the reigning Mid-South heavyweight title-holder, fights out of Nashville (TN). He has won his last seven in a row, six by knockout.

Also on the card, Idaho icon Kenny “The Emmett Eliminator” Keene (51-3, 28 KOs) battles ex-International Boxing Federation champion “King” Arthur Williams (42-14-1, 29 KOs) in a 10-round Special Cruiserweight Attraction.
