Euro Roundup: Valuev Injured, more

15.02.06 - By Per Ake Persson: Sauerland Event announced Feb 14 that WBA heavy Nikolai Valuev planned April 1st defence was postponed due to an injury to the champion. The April 1 date will stick though with EBU middleweight champ Sebastian Sylvester defending the title against fellow German Dirk Dzemski in the headliner. Site is not set but Rostock appears to be in the running..

Luis Collazoīs defence of the WBA welterweight title against German Oktay Urkal might now happen in the US April 1.

Kazachstani Yersin Jailauov challenge EBU superbantam champ Michael Hunter March 3 in Liverpool.

Lightweighs Innocent (thatīs his ringname) and Hassan Ait Bassou clash May 20 in Purmerend on the annual Fighting Nordin Memorial in a Dutch eliminator.

The Torrevieja Boxing Club have postponed its planned March 18 show. New working date is March 31.

Stockholm-based Innuendo Management & Promotion is looking to do a show in Mariehamn on the island of Aaland sometime in August using mainly Swedish pros. Innuendo have previously staged K 1 shows in Sweden and done very well.

Kazachstani amateur star Gennady Golovkin will makes his prodebut on the big Universum show April 8 in Kiel.

Italian promoter Rosanna Conti Cavini stage a show in Grosseto March 17 with three Italian titlefights. At jr welter Michele Di Rocco takes on Antonio Mastantuono, supermiddle veteran Vincenzo Imparato is in against Alessandro Filippo and finally at superbantam Fausto Bortolozzo face Massimo Morra.
