Toney, Goossen Tutor Salute Troops

13.12.05 - With the holiday season upon us and many of our dedicated fighting men and women unable to be home with their loved ones, Goossen Tutor Promotions and Tachi Palace Casino & Hotel is overjoyed to give something back to the brave men and women who continue to fight for freedom and democracy around the world, while also honoring those who have made the ultimate sacrifice..

Several thousand troops based at the Naval Air Station in Lemoore, California, will be the recipients of a two-day holiday tribute beginning tomorrow when top-ranked world heavyweight contender James “Lights Out” Toney arrives to meet and greet the troops and their families, sign autographs and take a tour of the base.

Then on Thursday night, Goossen Tutor and Tachi Palace Casino and Hotel will salute the troops with an exclusive evening of boxing at the Tachi Palace Casino & Hotel in Lemoore.

Headlining the scheduled seven-bout card will be an eight-round cruiserweight contest between WBC Continental Americas Champion Charles Davis (16-8-1, 3 KOs), of Tucson, AZ and Jeff Brownfield (9-4, 4 KOs), of Omaha, NE.

A pair of up and coming fighters – junior welterweight Lorenzo Reynolds (10-0, 4 KOs), of Saginaw, MI and light heavyweight John Johnson (10-0, 9 KOs), of Batesville, MS are also slated for action in separate bouts.

Filling out the undercard include super middleweights Enrique Ornelas (21-2, 14 KOs), of La Habra, CA versus Panamanian Darmel Castillo (10-9-2, 6 KOs); heavyweights Teke Oruh (8-0-1, 4 KOs), Las Vegas, NV taking on David Johnson (4-17-4, 0 KOs), Los Angeles, CA; welterweights Juan Herrera (8-3-1, 0 KOs), Orosi, CA opposing Mario Hayes (2-0, 0 KOs), Las Vegas, NV; and junior middleweights Enrique Gutierrez (6-0, 5 KOs), Santa Rosa, CA facing James Kindell (1-0, 1 KO), Tulare, CA.
