Audley Harrison v Danny Williams Live on ITV1

28.11.05 - ITV can today confirm that the British heavyweight fight of the decade between Audley Harrison and Danny Williams will be broadcast live on ITV1, on a peak time programme – from 8.55 to 10.10pm. The fight, to be held at the ExCeL London, on Saturday December 10, will see Olympic gold-medallist Harrison return from a self-imposed exile in the United States to face fellow Londoner and conqueror of Mike Tyson, Danny Williams.

Four-and-a-half years after his professional debut, December 10 is Audley Harrison’s opportunity to prove that he can finally let his fists do the talking and be seriously considered as a future world champion. At 34 years-of-age it is now or never for Harrison.

The live action on ITV1’s Big Fight Live, presented by Jim Rosenthal, will include both the main event clash between Audley Harrison and Danny Williams for the Commonwealth heavyweight title as well as British boxing sensation Amir Khan’s fourth professional fight. The show also includes an exclusive interview with Mike Tyson – who reveals his thoughts on the heavyweight contenders..

Jim Rosenthal will be joined at ringside by former world champion Barry McGuigan. Commentary comes from expert John Rawling and former world champion Duke McKenzie with reports from Gabriel Clarke.

The action will move over to ITV4 from 10.30pm, for an extended two-hour show featuring a fantastic under card, including: Further top British heavyweight action as Matt Skelton takes on John McDermott; young boxer of the year Kevin Mitchell as he challenges Jose Antonio Fuente for the IBF Intercontinental super-featherweight title; and an English welterweight title fight between Ross Minter and Brett James.
