Ring Legend Julio Cesar Chavez Brings Boxing Back to Houston This Week

28.01.04 - By Carlos “Stiff-jab” Kalinchuk: Mexican ring legend Julio Cesar Chavez Sr. 103-6-2 is returning to Houston this Thursday to promote his second American boxing installment just days before the big game in between the Panthers and Patriots. As anyone that attended his previous card here in December will tell you, it was an absolute success.

Chavez Sr. gave the fans a show to remember as Hugo "Rambo" Ramirez improved his record to 23-1 (20 KO's) after beating ring veteran Melchor Cob Castro 65-12 (40 KO's) in 8 action packed rounds in a non-title fight.

Chavez Jr. also laced up the leather only to put on a sluggish show even by his own accounts. But the waiting for redemption is not far away as he will be fighting again tomorrow night. The under-card will feature Chavez Jr. 3-0 against Jose Luis Bargos 0-2.
