10.11.05 - By Matt Clark: Eric "Butterbean" Esch arrived at Brisbane International Airport yesterday, creating a huge media frenzy in the process. The self proclaimed "King of 4 Rounders" faces Australia's "Big" Bob Mirovic on November 18, at Carrara Stadium on the beautiful Gold Coast..

Esch (71-6-4 54 KO's) promised to put on a show in his first trip to Australia. "From what I've seen, this is a very beautiful place. The people here are fantastic, and I'm ready to knock this guy (Mirovic) out! People these days don't want to see pitty-patter boxing. They want to see two guys going toe-to-toe."
Despite feeling fatigued from his 30 hour flight, "Butterbean" was more than willing to accommodate the waiting press and the general public at Surfers Paradise.
"Hey, this is all part of boxing," he said. When asked if he had studied tapes of Mirovic he replied: "For me it's just like Christmas. You get in the ring, unwrap it and see what you've got".
Promoter Jamie Myer was equally delighted with the new arrival. "You can see just how much the public loves him. Little kids are coming up to him to grab his autograph and Eric is more than happy to entertain. It's going to be a big show, tickets are already moving fast."
When questioned on a possible move back to Mixed Martial Arts in the sanctuary of his hotel room, Esch, 37-years-old, dropped a hint that something big was in the works. "I'll let you in on something. Royce Gracie has contacted me and there's a chance that next year, early next year, I'll be fighting Andrew Golota in a cage match. Nothing has been finalised just yet but it's certainly on the cards. But right now, all I'm thinking about is knocking out Bob Mirovic!"
