Euro Roundup: David Haye, Felix Sturm, more..

09.09.05 - By Per Ake Persson: Fight Academy, headed by Dennis Hobson, have won purse bids for EBU cruiser champ Alexander Gourov´s defence against David Haye. Date and site is to be announced. Danish lightweight Martin Kristjansen gets South African Anthony Tshehla as opponent September 30 in Slagelse with the vacant WBO I/C title at stake..

OPI 2000 have won purse bids for the fight for the vacant EBU title between Italian Pietro Aurino and Croatian, based in Germany, Stipe Drews. Date and site is to be announced.

It will be Frenchman Jimmy Colas that takes on German Alexander Sipos October 1 in Oldenburg for the vacant EU 154 lb title. Sipos was originally to have fought Czech Lukas Konecny but he opted to go for the oppurtunity to headline Spotlight Boxing´s show in Prague September 20 instead.

German middle Felix Sturm has been withdrawn from his position as official challenger to EBU 160 lb ruler Sebastian Sylvester and been replaced by Italian Lorenzo Di Giacomo.

Sauerland Event have a female - only for the second time I believe - fight on their big October 1 show in Oldenburg when WIBF jr middle champ Heidi Hartmann, who hails from Oldenburg, defends against Mariana Garcia.
