Campbell vs Attah Tonight: Grudge Match or Cross Roads Battle?

09.01.04 - By Jason Bell: Nate Campbell a rising young lightweight contender wants to create a firm standing as one of the best in his division. Despite having two recent above average outings, he still remains winless in those bouts. He ended up having a draw against Edelmiro Martinez and lost a previous unanimous decision to Joel Cassamayor. Some viewers felt Nate did enough to win against the slick more experienced Cuban, while others felt he didn't do enough to close the show.

There is a little grude match going here. Daniel Attah is being trained by Campbell's former trainer the impressive Buddy Mcgirt. Rumors of Buddy not giving Nate enough attention while in training and Attah thrashing Campbell in heated sparring sessions also adds fuel to this match up.

This can be viewed as a cross roads battle because both fighters are coming off a slight in their careers. Will Buddy be able to sprinkle some magic on Attah that could solve the hard hitting Campbell? Will Campbell's take no prisoners right hand be too much for Attah? This bout looks pretty even going in.
