Battle at the Boat XXVI: Ellis Takes On Holt January 9

08.01.04 - The Battle at Boat Boxing Series starts its fourth year and Seattle’s own Middleweight contender Kenny Ellis (31-5-2, 20 KO’s) will headline the show Friday night, January 9th at the Emerald Queen Casino. Ellis will face up and comer Christopher Holt (8-1, 4 KO’s) in the 10 round main event. “This should be another good test for Kenny” said promoter Brian Halquist. “Ellis is fighting a young guy who is a lot bigger than he is. Like all of these fights, Kenny needs to win” Halquist said. “The contract weight on the fight is 168. Kenny was getting ready to fight at 160 so we’re going to give up a few pounds and fight a big guy” Halquist said. “We are positioning Kenny for a big fight. We’ll fight anyone, anywhere after this fight” Halquist commented.

In his adopted hometown debut, new Halquist Productions signee, Chad Van Sickle (13-0-2, 6 KO’s) will fight the durable James “Baby Tyson” Brock from Los Angeles. Van Sickle is from Grove City, Ohio and just signed with Brian Halquist Productions last month. This will be the Northwest Boxing fans first chance to see Van Sickle in action. “Hopefully Chad is the future headliner for our shows. We are excited to let the Northwest boxing fans see Chad in action”, Halquist said.

Tickets for the show are $75-$40-$20 and available at the Emerald Queen Casino gift shop, through Ticketmaster or at
