Andre Ward Records His Fouth Professional Victory
18.06.05 - (MEMPHIS, TENN.) - Olympic gold medalist Andre Ward (Oakland, Calif.) moved to a perfect 4-0 (2 KOs) with a dominating third round TKO victory over Ben Aragon (Billings, Mont.) on Saturday night at the FedEx Forum in Memphis, Tenn. Ward dominated the first round of action, landing at will with a sharp and pinpoint accurate jab. The 21-year-old peppered Aragon with shots to the head and body throughout the short contest, controlling the pace and befuddling Aragon with his quickness and incomparable movement.

Ward turned up the heat in the second round, opening up with razor-sharp combinations and frustrating his overmatched opponent with his speed and accuracy.
The third round told the same story but Ward put a quick end to the pummeling with a crushing left hand. Aragon was clearly hurt by the shot and the large accumulation of punishment he had absorbed, causing the referee to jump in and stop the contest at :59 of the third round.
The win moves Ward to 4-0 as a professional and gives Ward the second knockout of his young professional career. Ward weighed in at a professional career low of 160 pounds for the contest, which highlighted the undercard of the light heavyweight title fight between Glen Johnson and Antonio Tarver. Ward made his professional debut on the undercard of their first match-up in December.
