Roach: We [Pacquiao] know how to handle Bradley
By Jim Price: Trainer Freddie Roach is once again picking his fighter WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao by a knockout win in his next fight on June 9th in Las Vegas, Nevada. Pacquiao faces unbeaten Tim Bradley, and Roach believes he’s put together an ironclad plan for success for Pacquiao.

However, Roach also thought he had the perfect plan for Pacquiao in his last fight against Juan Manuel Marquez last November, and unfortunately Pacquiao looked very average in winning a controversial decision. Roach now blames the poor performance on Pacquiao experiencing family problems in the weeks before the fight. That’s an excuse Roach won’t be able to use twice, so he’s going to have to come up with a different one if Pacquiao fails to impress again and wins another controversial decision.
Roach told the Manila Bulletin “Manny is in a very good place. We have a big game plan and we know how to handle this guy.”
Let’s hope Pacquiao fights better than he did against Marquez because he looked like the same old easily hit fighter that he’s always been, and Roach was talking about having a great game plan for that fight as well. Roach talks about game plans and such, but Pacquiao fights the same way every time. You almost get the impression that Roach is just talking to try and psyche out Pacquiao’s opponents by making them think too much instead of realizing that Pacquiao is pretty the same fighter every time.
The game plan will likely revolve around Pacquiao moving around and trying to get shots in and use angles. But he always stops doing that when he gets hit. Once Pacquiao is tagged in the head, he seems to abandon whatever he was doing before and just slug.
