ESPN Selects Ray Leonard As On-Site Analyst For April 23 PPV Telecast
LOS ANGELES, April 13 - With its inaugural boxing pay-per-view telecast approaching on Saturday, April 23, ESPN is pleased to announce the addition of legendary former world champion "Sugar" Ray Leonard to its broadcast team for the show, which will be promoted by Main Events at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas..

“I'm honored to be on the ESPN broadcast team for this historic show on Saturday, April 23,” said Leonard, currently the co-host of NBC’s "The Contender". “Every fight on this card is a winner, and its high quality events like this that will put boxing back where it belongs in the eyes of the American public.”
The card will feature up to 44 rounds of live boxing, including two world championship fights, and is available for just $29.95. Featured will be WBA lightweight champion Juan Diaz; WBO
welterweight title holder Antonio Margarito (who will battle WBO-interim champion Kermit Cintron), as well as three-time world champion Shane Mosley; and a 10-round heavyweight bout.
Tickets for the event at Caesars Palace are priced from $50 to $250 and are on sale at www.ticketmaster.com.
Leonard will join host Brian Kenny as special on-site analyst at Caesars, site of several of Leonard’s greatest fights.
“Going back to Caesars Palace is like a homecoming,” said Leonard, who fought in the famed venue nine times during his storied career. “I won my first world championship at Caesars in 1979, and also beat Tommy Hearns and Marvin Hagler there. I know what it's like for a fighter to fight on the sport's biggest stage, and for all the participants on Saturday, April 23, this will be a night to remember.
Leonard and Kenny will be complemented by ringside blow-by-blow commentator Joe Tessitore, ringside analyst Teddy Atlas, and reporter Jeremy Schaap.
