Sven Ottke wins close decision over Robin Reid

13.12.03 - By Matt Stein: Sven Ottke of Germany retained his WBA and IBF Super Middleweight titles in winning a unanimous decision over Britainís Robin Reid (36-4-1) on Saturday night. Ottke, perhaps beginning to show his age (36), lost many of the early rounds to Reid. In the 6th round, Ottke appeared to be knocked down by Reid, but the referee ruled it a slip. The bout was littered with rule infractions by both fighters, although while Ottke (33-0, 6 KOs) was merely warned about his rule breaking, Reid was actually penalized. The judges scored the bout 117-112, 115-113 and 115-113. East Side Boxing had it 115-113 for Robin Reid.
