Australian Boxing: Friday 30 March 2012

By Srithar Visuasam: This Friday night sees boxing return to the Malvern Town Hall with the first card of the year by Peter Maniatis Promotions seeing world rated light heavyweight Manny Vlamis (11-2, 8 KOs) headlining the seven fight card.

Vlamis, who most recently captured the PABA light heavyweight title late last year, takes on Togasilimai Letoa (11-9-1, 6 KOs) for the vacant OBPF light heavyweight title.. Vlamis, who is riding a five fight winning streak, will look to add another regional belt to his collection and a WBC ranking to further cement his name amongst the best light heavyweights in the Asia-Pacific region.

In the main supporting bout, popular light heavyweight Callan Orchard (6-2, 2 KOs) takes on Lynden Edney (3-2, 1 KO) in what should be an action packed fight for the Victoria State light heavyweight title.

Other fighters scheduled to take to the ring include Terry Tzouramanis, Yodmongkol Singmanasak and Ben Capps, with Joel Camilleri, Dale Berry, Pat Lynch and Craig Callaghan all set to make their professional debuts.

Tickets start from $50 and are available at the door with a capacity crowd expected on the night.
