Can Denis Boytsov Survive "The Southern Disaster?" - Boytsov-Guinn In April

boytsovBy James Slater: Unbeaten at 30-0 with 25 stoppages, exciting heavyweight contender Denis Boytsov is helping to make the current heavyweight division that much more intriguing, on the European scene especially.

He may not be a massive guy, nor a huge puncher, but the 26 year old Boytsov has so far shown the tools needed to reach the top. Some fans' pick for the most promising young heavy out there, Boytsov is set (according to to take a somewhat intriguing, possibly tough, test in his next bout.

Boytsov is down as facing durable, experienced and sometimes dangerous U.S big man Dominick Guinn, in Cologne Germany on April 13th. And as much as the much younger, fresher and more active Boytsov looks a big favourite to win the fight, the fans may get to know a little bit more about Boytsov in this fight..

Guinn, known as "The Southern Disaster," hasn't won for quite a while (loser of his last 2, to another pair of unbeatens in Kubrat Pulev and, last time out in August of last year, Amir Mansour) yet he has never been stopped at 33-8-1(22). It may also have been a long time since Guinn scored an impressive KO (remember his icing of Michael. Grant?) But if he's up for this fight - surely his last big chance - he could give Boytsov something to think about.

Can Boytsov become the first man to crack the cagey veteran's chin? It sure would be an impressive statement if the young contender smashed Guinn, but I don't think it will happen . Look instead for Boytsov to learn a few things as he pounds out a points win during which he doesn't have things all his own way.
