Jose Perez Jr. attempts to win his 6th straight victory as a pro

22.03.05 - Jose "The Punisher" Perez Jr. is about to muscle his way into the professional ranks. Jose's latest victory at the Arco arena located in Sacramento, California was against a kid named Geraldo Gonzalez making his pro debut, Jose looked very sharp in this fight and was basically picking this guy apart from the very beginning of the fight said his father Jose senior..

The fight mercifully ended after 3 full rounds, Gonzalez was knocked down several times and was unable to answer the fourth round however he showed lots of hart and courage, this was no pushover this kid wanted a win over Jose, he came to fight. With Jose's dad now serving as both his manager
and trainer things are moving forward, at present time we are looking for a good quality promoter who sees the potential we all see in Jose.

First and foremost Jose wants to become world champion and he is willing to fight anybody who really wants to fight him, We think his historic amateur background (Most noteworthy would be that Jose has won 10 major national boxing titles) makes many guys in his division afraid to fight so it's hard putting good fights together for him.

At present time Jose is in great shape and wants to keep fighting as often as possible! In his last outing almost 1,000 thousand Bay Area fans came out to the fight in support of their local hero "The Punisher" waving banners and signs Jose's legion of fans continue to grow after each and every fight.

Note: In the amateurs Jose is considered a legend, a veteran of both national and international competition, before making his pro debut on May 27, 2004 Jose put together one of the best amateur records in California boxing history 147-20 Winning countless titles as well as 10 major national titles.

Here is what boxing's legendary trainer and manager Emanuel Steward (founder of the "Kronk" boxing gym located in Detroit city) has to say about Jose: "This kid Jose is a rare talent, even though he is such an accomplished amateur fighter I have always thought he will be going much farther in the pro ranks.

I really think he has the potential to become world champion, a while back Jose and his dad came to Detroit to get some work in, Jose was a well liked and respected fighter here (and that's tough to do here at the Kronk, the competition level in here is very tough) he fought basically everybody he could both pro and amateurs, every time he would spar people would stop training and watch this kid, his ring attributes are phenomenal, he fights like a well schooled pro and was fighting this way even when he was still in the amateurs.

I think he is just getting warmed up by the fourth round, this guy is always in great shape, a very consistent type of fighter. I think within the next few years you will be reading a lot more about this kid. He has a great team behind him led by his father and I see that relationship only getting stronger as Jose continues to fight more often, he is doing a great job preparing Jose for the future and a title shot opportunity.

The featherweight division these days has lots of great fighters and Jose will be one of the best if he lives up to his full potential. Jose wants to keep fighting and hopefully get the attention of one of the major fight promoters out there, so promoters open your eyes this kid is going all the way!
