The Nordic Nightmare Gets Hat-Trick of former champs

By Ted Sares: The preparation has gone very well. Back home everybody asks me when I will be fighting the Klitschkos, but first things first, all my focus is on Liakhovich. Robert Helenius.

Robert Helenius, 6′ 6½,″ is now 16-0 as a result of his ninth round stoppage win over a game and competitive 6′ 4″ Siarhei “White Wolf” Liakhovich in Germany. While sluggish and stationary in the early rounds, The Nightmare finally awoke, closed the gap, and put the Wolf away. Liakhovich had once been the WBO heavyweight champion.
This win comes only four months after having retendered unconscious fellow nightmare and former WBC heavyweight title holder Samuel Peter.
Back in 2006, Helenius disposed of still another former world heavyweight champion by stopping Lamon “Relentless” Brewster (35-5) in eight. This one also was fought in Germany.
Including opponents such as Attila “The Hun” Levin, Gregory Tony, Scott Gammer, and Taras Bydenko, Robert Helenius has been actively building a solid résumé. While the Klitschko’s may be gone by the time he makes his bid, Robert has a number of interesting options awaiting him and so do his fans. At 6’5,”Austrailia’s Kali Meehan comes to mind and so does Poland’s Albert “The Dragon” Sosnowski. Undefeated Russian giant Alexander Ustinov at 6′ 7½″also would be an interesting matchup. There are many more including streaking undefeated Brits David Price and Tyson Fury both of whom are taller than The Nightmare. Another possibility is Deontay “The Bronze Bomber” Wilder though it would be a step up for the undefeated former American Olympian, albeit not literally as Wilder stands 6’7.”
Stay tuned.
