Mensah, 10-0 (9 KOs), fights Nigerian Sunday Ajayi, 12-5-1 (5 KOs), in an international Lightweight championship on the ‘Opportunity 2’ bill put together by Landmark Promotions and Management syndicate scheduled for the Lebanon House in Tudu, Accra.
At a tender age of 20, Rafael Mensah is another fighter in the camp of Landmark promotions perceived as a future prospect. He has impressed local boxing experts since turning professional last year and is rated as a throwback of legendary American boxer Peniel Whitaker.
“I promise Ghanaians to troop to the Lebanon House early to watch my onslaughts because the fight will not last long. I’m determined to be a world champ in a couple of years, so this is a warm-up,” promises Rafael Mensah for whom an Intercontinental title fight is in the offing within 6 months.
Also fighting on the August 27 Landmark Promotions event which has two Commonwealth title fights at stake is kickboxing world champion Stephen Abbey who has switched sports to boxing. “He is now focused on boxing and with Landmark, the sky is the limit,” said Anthony Kermah, CEO of Landmark Promotions and Management Ltd.
