Mosley and Mora fight to 12 round draw
By Rob Smith: Shane Mosley needs to consider himself very fortunate that he wasn't handed a loss tonight in his 12 round draw with Sergio Mora at the Staples Center, in Los Angeles, CA. Mosley looked like a textbook definition of a shot fighter, as he was unable to pull the trigger for openings and flailed around, missing badly, when he would attempt to throw punches. After a quick start in the first two rounds, Mosley appeared to run out of gas and out of answers as he struggled in the remainder of the fight to land anything of substance against the Latin Snake. The judges scored the fight 116-112 for Mosley, 115-113 for Mora and 114-114 even. I saw Mora winning every round from the 2nd until the 11th. Mosley looked like a plodder, as he walked into punch after punch from Mora for 12 rounds. On the inside, Mosley was punished constantly by the bigger and younger Mora. I can't say I'm surprised that Mora didn't get the win, because I never thought he would, short of knocking Mosley out. I think Mosley needs to consider retirement because he looked awful tonight, and I'm being kind here.
