2010 Chicago Golden Glove Champion Genaro Mendez will make his pro debut, Saturday, June 19th at the UIC Pavillion in Chicago. Mendez, who won the 152 lb. open title, will be making his pro debut as a jr. weleterweight. “I’ve pretty much been training since the end of the Golden Glove tournament,” said Mendez. “I took a one-week break, after the tournament and I’ve been training ever since.” Mendez thinks Chicago boxing fans will enjoy his style. “I’m an all-action, come forward fighter,” added Mendez. “People have always said my style of boxing is better suited for the pro ranks..

Mendez also works as a trainer at Warehouse Gym and Boxing Club in Highland Park, IL along with his brother Miguel Guanarrama, the 2010, 132 lb. Golden Gloves open champion and current NABF Cruiserweight Champion, Jason Robinson.

OKLAHOMA CITY – Remington Park and HD Boxing, bring the heat on a hot summer night as professional boxing returns on Thursday, July 8.

Presented by HD Boxing, the July 8 card features many fan favorites including ‘The Comanche Boy’ George Tahdooahnippah, Stephanie ‘All Action’ Dobbs, Jonathan ‘The Choctaw Warrior’ Nelson, plus many more.

Remington Park’s boxing venue, located on track-level north, opens July 8 at 6:30pm with the first fight at 7pm. Fans are encouraged to enter through the Casino Entrance to gain access to the boxing venue.

Tickets go on sale Monday, June 21 at or by calling 405-473-5000. Advance pricing is $25 for general admission and $35 for reserved seats. Ringside tables seating eight are also available.

Keisher “Fire” Mcleod-Wells steps back into the ring on July 28th

Female boxing star Keisher “Fire” Mcleod-Wells steps back into the ring on July 28th at New York’s BB Kings Blues Club & Grill in Times Square.

Mcleod-Wells returns to the location of her last bout where she dominated the undefeated Mexican fighter Laura Gomez on the 31st of March.

The July 28th show will be promoted by Lou Dibella’s Dibella Entertainment and will feature some of New York’s most promising up and coming fighters.

Mcleod Wells is a 2x Amateur World Champion and 4x NY Golden Glove winner who is currently 3-1 as a professional. She hopes that this bout will showcase her talents and attract more fans to female boxing.

A former model and actress, Keisher “Fire” Mcleod-Wells doesn’t fit the stereotype of a female boxer and is determined to prove that she can transform her amateur success into professional accomplishments.

Mcleod-Wells and her team have had a hard time trying to find suitable opponents in the US and have had to fight 3 of her 4 bouts against Latin American fighters, 2 of those bouts occurring in Panama.

Mcleod-Wells’ opponent for this bout is still to be determined but she is preparing for a tough bout whoever is in the other corner come fight night.

“Fire” as she is better known to her large array of fans is happy to be fighting in her hometown again and is looking forward to putting on a real show, July 28th at BB Kings.
