Middleweight Showdown Cancelled

10.12.04 - By Coach Tim Walkertpwalker@hotmail.com - The middleweight showdown between West Palm Beach based USBA Middleweight champion Daniel “The Haitian Sensation” Edouard (16-0-2 with 9 KOs) and WBA International Middleweight champion undefeated German prospect Arthur Abraham (14-0-0 with 14 KOs) scheduled for December 18 has been cancelled.

This fight, which has fight of the year potential, has not been rescheduled and according to sources it is likely these highly regarded prospects won’t face each other at this stage in their career. Edouard sites reasons for the fight being cancelled as “contractual.”

In a statement released by Daniel Edouard he sites:

"It is with great disappointment that I must announce the cancellation of my December 18th bout with Arthur Abraham. Representatives of Abraham have proven to be both eager and steadfast in working with my team to make this fight happen but were ultimately unable to complete all the necessary details to continue with this bout."

"Based on that, I think it is necessary for me to fulfill my obligations to the boxing public and the USBA organization by successfully defending my middleweight title. Boxing enthusiast can look forward to seeing me in the ring in the very near future."
