Weights from Istanbul - Aydin, Ion make weight

WBC Welterweight Championship between Selcuk Aydin and Ionut Dan Ion to be streamed live on wbcboxing.tv tomorrow (Sat. June 5) - Tomorrow (Saturday, June 5) rising welterweight star Selcuk Aydin has the chance to become the second world champion for ARENA Sports-Promotion after Cuban featherweight phenomenon Yuriorkis Gamboa. Aydin faces unbeaten Romanian Ionut "Jo-Jo Dan" Ion at Abdi Ipekci Spor Salonu in Istanbul, Turkey..

Promoter Ahmet Íner expects a close and exciting fight. "Both men are undefeated, both guys will definitely give their all to become champion of the world", states Íner. "We know Selcuk and his extraordinary physical strength and will-power. But in this last week in Istanbul I also had the chance to take a look at "Jo-Jo Dan". He looks determined to take the belt to Canada. I think it will be a great fight." Today at the scale it was all even with both contenders weighing in exactly at the welterweight limit of 147 lbs. (66.6 kg).

"I want to prove that I am one of the best welterweights in the world today", says Aydin. "I know that this is one of the strongest divisions at the moment with so many great fighters. After I have won my first world championship belt I am ready to take on all the big names in the division and show them that I am the best. Bring on Andre Berto, Floyd Mayweather or Manny Pacquiao. I'm not afraid of any of those guys."
