Newly Crowned Canadian Champ Says Brazier Fight a Go!
26.11.03 - Brooke Wellby, fresh off his upset victory over Rico Tan, the new Canadian Welterweight Champion says reports that he is out of his bout with former world contender Harold Brazier are premature. The bout will take place December 5, at the Omega Sports Center here.
Promoter Octavious James said he is ecstatic about Wellby being back in the bout and thinks the fans will get a great fight.
"Brazier was a great fighter and thinks he can get back in the boxing picture, but he is taking on a solid guy with Wellby. This is no soft touch for his first fight in six years," said James.
Brazier works as a car dealer in his hometown of South Bend, Indiana and trains at Jim Kaczmarek's School of Hard Knocks gym. The bout is scheduled for ten rounds and is the main event.
"I feel like a kid again having my first fight, exclaimed Brazier. "This is going to be great fun."
One In A Million Boxing has announced that undefeated Tony Dennis of Indianapolis will take on Shay Mobley from Chicago for Mobley's I.N.B.A super middleweight title in the eight round feature bout.
"This is going to be a memorable night of boxing for Northwest Indiana," said James. "We have guys that want to fight and want to win!"
Hammond lightweight Ruben Galvan will return to action in a six round bout, while Whiting jumior middle Juan Aguilar and Kokomo's light heavyweight Jeff Baker will see action on the undercard.
