Colombian boxing news: Darley Pérez kayo´s Pascual Salgado. JC Novoa, Romero, Prescott and Urina win

Jaime Castro Núñez - Unbeaten WBA Fedelatin lightweight champion Darley Pérez (14-0-0, KO´s 12) retained his regional belt as he stopped Pascual Salgado (4-2-0) in the fifth round at Softball Stadium in Puerto Colombia, ATL., in the main event of Cuadrilátero´s Boxing Night last Friday, March 5. The highly-regarded Colombian prospect looked solid and strong, landing the best punches throughout the match, attacking the body and taking very well Salgado´s bombs. A right hook during the eight paved the way to what ended in a knockdown. Salgado beat the count and the regional champion resumed the assault, using all of his weapons. Seconds later, the referee in charge, Leonel Mercado, halted the contest..

Meanwhile, 160-pounder Juan Camilo Novoa, who currently trains and fights out of Miami, FL., returned to his native Colombia to dispose of Howard Cassiani at 1:35 of the first stanza. Featherweight Daulis Prescott claimed victory by dispatching Elkin Garcés. Super bantamweight prospect, Jhonatan "Momo" Romero and super flyweight William Urina, also knocked out their respective oppoents.
