Oquendo-Seldon Face Off at Windy City Fight Night 4 this Friday!

by Matthew Paras - Boxing blows through the Windy City again as Fres Oquendo (30-5, 19 KOs) makes his second return in two months to the UIC Pavilion in Chicago against fellow heavyweight Bruce Seldon (40-7, 36 KOs) for the NABA title on July 24th. Oquendo, fresh off a third round TKO of Mark Brown just last month on June 26th, looks to beat Seldon and continue his career. Seldon is also on a two fight win streak and a win over Oquendo would help propel him back into the heavyweight scene.

This is a must win situation for both men. Oquendo winning could propel him to many different heavyweight opponents such as the winner of various fights like Kevin Johnson-Odlanier Solis, Tony Thompson vs. Lamon Brewster, and rising British sensation Tyson Fury.. Seldon will most likely be in the same position. The loser of the fightís career is in serious jeopardy.

Also on the card is rising Chicago prospect Noe Perez (2-0, 2 KOs) as he looks to continue to make an impression on the Chicago crowd against Diamond Baier, who makes his professional debut. Perez impressed last time out with national exposure on ESPN 2ís Friday Night Fights. Fellow prospects Mike Kurzeja (1-0, 1 KO) and Tyree Ortiz (2-0, 2 KOs) also look to impress.

Tickets start at $31 dollars and can be purchased through 8 Count Productionsí office (312-226-5800) or through Ticketmaster.com. Doors open at 7 P.M. with the first bell starting at 8. Windy City Fight Night 4 is produced by Dominic Pesoliís 8 Count Productions.
