Royal Footmen Under Scrutiny Before Lacy Travels to England

21.11.03 – On the advice of promoter Gary Shaw and his security detail, undefeated super middleweight contender and 2000 U.S. Olympian, JEFF “LEFT HOOK” LACY, will be bringing his own royal footmen to Manchester, England, in light of the security breaches at Buckingham Palace and Windsor Castle which have been detailed over the past few days by Ryan Parry of the Daily Mirror.

“Can you imagine the fate of the world if Jeff's 'nuclear' arms – the ones he has launched to knock out 80% of the opponents he has faced – were to fall into the hands of our enemies!” exclaimed Shaw.

Lacy, 15-0 (12 KOs), who reigns as the super middleweight king of the USBA, the WBC Continental Americas and the NABA, will be defending his crown against Donnell “Cadillac” Wiggins, 20-2-2 (11 KOs), Saturday, December 13, at the MEN Arena in Manchester, England. The fight will be televised in the U.S. on SHOWTIME Championship Boxing beginning at 10 P.M. EST / PST. The SHOWTIME telecast will also include Ricky Hatton’s WBU jr. welterweight title defense against Ben Tackie.

“We are leaving the corgis at home,” said Shaw. “I have assembled an international team of security experts to guard Jeff 24 hours-a-day. Jeff will be training and living in a safe house until fight day. If a reporter can infiltrate Windsor Castle, which was built by William the Conqueror (not to be confused with Shaw’s top-rated featherweight contender William “The Conqueror” Abelyan -- a shameless plug if ever there was one) do I have any other choice?”

Already, Shaw has instituted background checks on all visitors to Lacy’s training camp in Tampa, Fla.

“I am in touch with the CIA, Scotland Yard, and Interpol,” continued Shaw. “James Bond, Sydney Reilly, Sherlock Holmes and Miss Marple herself will not escape our security procedures.”
