-- Well...i kinda thought that Griffin would be stopped. Alas, the Jeff Lacy who beat down Scotty Pemberton at Harra's in Lake Tahoe, Reid in Tampa and and Sheika in Las Vegas was not there last night. Instead, we had the Jeff Lacy who is still recovering from the cuff and eye problems. Each round of the fight was pretty much the same, punctuated by no less than fifteen round card girls from WingHouse (see gallery).

The photo gallery is a spread of the action through the entire fight. Otis was very focused and he and Lacy both were not averse to the Ruiz Tango much of the time keeping Ref Dennis DeBon "Cortez Busy" exercising his triceps to separate them. The fight played more like a rust preventer than a victory quest. Jeff's "punches" lacked the pop and sting of yesterear. Lacy was awarded an SD 94/96, 93/97 over Griffin's half-a-nod at 95/95. Seemed reasonable with little or no "hometown" involved..

Jeff grabbed the announcer Alexander's mike to make a few remarks as well as challenge Roy Jones just for good measure. The fight card was really excellent with many of the boxers from the Tampa Bay area. The feather contest between Kermitt Gonzalez and Derrick Wilson brought new meaning to the word "flurry"... report to follow.

The night of Boxing was very respectable and East Side Boxing would like to thank Left Hook Promotions and One Punch for our slot on the apron. Have much to show on the prelims today and tomorrow. See you at the fights.
