Erik Morales vs Marco Antonio Barrera III at the MGM Grand on Nov 27

23.09.04 - One of the fiercest rivalries of our time, Erik ’El Terrible’ Morales vs. Marco Antonio Barrera, will be decided at “Once And For All” when the two superstars collide at the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino on Saturday, November 27. Top Rank and Golden Boy, Inc. will present Morales vs. Barrera III “Once And For All” which will be available on HBO Pay Per View. Morales and Barrera split their two previous fiery mega fights, with Morales winning the first and Barrera the second.

“Anytime you can present two future Hall of Famers in a trilogy, it’s part of boxing history,” said Mark Taffett, HBO Senior Vice President of Sports Operations and Pay-Per-View. “The fans appreciate the extraordinary rivalry between Erik Morales and Marco Antonio Barrera. We can’t wait for the third chapter of this memorable matchup.”

Morales, from Tijuana, is the current WBC and IBF super featherweight champion. He has a record of 47-1 with 34 knockouts and is coming of an exciting victory over top challenger Carlos ‘Famoso” Hernandez on July 31 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena. Morales is18-1 in world title fights including wins over Barerra, Jesus ‘El Matador’ Chavez, Paulie Ayala, Wayne McCullough, Junior Jones and Daniel Zaragoza.

Barrera, from Mexico City, is the only champion who has a win over Morales. Barrera is 17-3 in world title fights and he has wins over Johnny Tapia, Naseem Hamed, Paulie Ayala, Kevin Kelley, Jesus Salud and Kennedy McKinney. Barrera is coming off a very solid performance, knocking down and stopping Ayala in Carson, Calif. on June 19.

Tickets are priced at $600, $400, $800, $300, $200, $100 and $50, not including applicable service charges, and are on sale now at any MGM Grand Garden Arena box office outlet. Tickets are also sold at all Las Vegas Ticketmaster locations (Tower Records, Smith’s Food and Drug Centers, Robinsons-May stores and Ritmo Latino locations).
