News: Which Klitschko will Haye fight? Hayemaker Boxing hit Rotherham with HAYEMAKER 3

Vitali KlitschkoDavid Haye’s manager Adam Booth has accused the Klitschkos of backtracking following the British boxers outstanding performance against Monte Barrett. Haye was due to fight IBF, IBO and WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko in London next summer. It now looks increasingly likely that Haye will instead face WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko. Speaking to Setanta Sports News Booth said:

“At first they were talking about Wladimir, now they pull Wladimir out and offer me Vitali.”

Booth added that it was a case of either fighting the brother “with better punches and a weaker chin [Wladimir] or the one with the better chin but who has slowed considerably over the last few years [Vitali]”.

Meanwhile David Haye said he ‘doesn’t care’ which Klitschko he fights.

“I watched that fight [Vitali against Samuel Peter] and I thought to myself ‘is this it?’ Is this the mountain I’ve got to climb? I can do it, I know I can.

“There are so many things he did that I can exploit with my speed and power. Even the punches he throws I can see coming!

“I think I’m the best and I’m willing to fight the best to prove it. Just like at cruiserweight. A lot of people said you haven’t got a chance of beating [Jean-Marc] Mormeck; you haven’t got a chance of beating [Enzo] Maccarinelli. Those are the guys I went after.”

“Now everyone’s saying you haven’t got a chance against Vitali, so I’m going after the guy who’s solid as a rock.”

Hayemaker Boxing hit Rotherham with HAYEMAKER 3

Hayemaker Boxing rolls into Rotherham on Sunday, November 30 as The Consort Hotel plays host to a three-bout bill presented by Dave Coldwell.

The intimate HAYEMAKER 3 show will feature fast-rising welterweight Curtis Woodhouse, hard-hitting middleweight Patrick Maxwell and cruiserweight John Anthony. All appear in non-title bouts and all promise to deliver explosive action.

Former pro footballer Woodhouse, unbeaten in his eight-bout boxing career, looks to keep ticking over before a standout 2009.

“Whoever’s holding the British title in two years better watch out because I’m coming for them,” states the 28-year-old Woodhouse, 8-0 (4 KO) as a pro.

“I’ve sacrificed a lot to get where I am now and I won’t stop until I get what I want. I gave up a well-paid job as a footballer to do this thing and it’s out of love and a desire to succeed. I’m not going to cut corners; I’m not going to give up. This is it for me. Failure isn’t an option. I can’t wait to step things up next year.”

Similarly determined is 29-year-old Maxwell, a pro for over 10-years. Undoubtedly talented, the Sheffield-based Maxwell is now looking to finally fulfil his potential following a stop-start career

”I know I have the ability to beat a lot of the top fighters in Britain and Europe,” says Maxwell, 14-2 (11 KO). “There comes a point when you have to stop thinking those things and saying those things and just knuckle down and prove it. That’s where I see myself right now. It’s time to go out there and prove just how good I am.”

Hayemaker’s Head of Boxing Dave Coldwell is excited by the November 30 menu and guarantees a special kind of atmosphere on the night.

“Curtis has already sold around 150 tickets and the venue only holds 340 people,” says Coldwell. “There are only a handful of tickets left and I’m sure it’s going to be an electric atmosphere on November 30. Curtis, Patrick and John always bring it and are very rarely involved in bad fights. This is a value for money, three-fight show that does exactly as it says on the tin.”
