Stacked Undercard Featured At Chicago's Hard Eight This Friday Night
CHICAGO, IL (August 3, 2008) A terrific five bout undercard has been added to HARD EIGHT, an outstanding evening of world class professional boxing, this Friday night, August 8th, at The Aragon Ballroom in Chicago. “HARD EIGHT” is headlined by an IBF Light Heavyweight Title Eliminator twelve round bout between unbeaten prospect Tavoris Cloud, 18-0 (17KO’s) and former world champion Julio Gonzalez, 41-5 (25KO’s). The co-main event pits Chicago’s “KING” Carlos Molina, 11-4-1 (4KO’s) against Denver’s Donald Camarena, 19-4 (9KO’s) in an eight round welterweight bout..

HARD EIGHT, broadcast live on ESPN2, is presented by Dominic Pesoli’s 8 Count Productions, HOME OF THE BEST IN CHICAGO BOXING, along with Chicago-based A-TEAM Management. Twenty one year old Chicago native Cedric Agnew, 8-0 (4KO’s) headlines the undercard as the light heavyweight prospect takes on fellow Chicagoan Ali Supreme, 15-8 (7KO’s) in a six round bout. A former amateur standout amassing a 90-10 record, Agnew won the WBC Continental Americas light heavyweight title on May 1st with a ten round decision over Rayco Saunders in Dallas, TX.
In an eight round lightweight bout, Mexico City’s Zaid “EL EXTERMINADOR” Zavaleta, 17-4-2 (11KO’s) battles former world title challenger Oscar “EL ARTISTA” Leon, 27-9 (18KO’s) of Cartagena, Columbia. Zavaleta is coming off a very close twelve round split decision loss to unbeaten Rafael Guzman on June 28th in Jalisco, Mexico.
A six round junior welterweight bout will pit Niagara Falls, NY native Nick “HANDS OF GOLD” Casal, 17-3-1 (13KO’s) against Cocula, Mexico native Frankie “PANCHTIO” Zepeda, 16-6 (9KO’s). The 22 year old Casal is looking to bounce back after losing a very close six round decision to Jose Antonio Ojeda on May 2nd at the Chumash Casino in Santa Ynez, California.
In a four round junior middleweight bout Johnny “THE BULLDOG” Suarez, 2-0-1 (1KO) of Burbank, California, returns to Chicago to battle Chicagoan Guadalupe Diaz, 4-4-1 (1KO). The unbeaten Suarez won a four round decision over Guy Packer on March 28th at The Aragon Ballroom. Diaz dropped a very close split decision four rounder to Frederico Flores Jr. on July 25th.
Rounding out the undercard at HARD EIGHT is Chicago based heavyweight prospect Theron Johnson, 1-1, battling William Williams, 0-1, of Jackson, Michigan. This will be Johnson first bout in Chicago, his first two professional bouts taking place in California.
The open to the public weigh in for HARD EIGHT will take place on Thursday, August 7th at 5pm at Beer and Brandy Restaurant, 127 S. State St. in Downtown Chicago.
