Clottey Sets Sights on Best in Welterweight Division

26.07.04 - Fresh off a sensational victory over WBC #9 world ranked welterweight Christopher Henry on Saturday night at the Flamingo Hotel & Casino in Laughlin, Nevada, DiBella Entertainment's welterweight contender Joshua Clottey once again clearly illustrated that he is a force to be reckoned with in the division.

The highly-regarded native of Ghana had Henry on the canvas once in round three, twice in round four, and twice again in the fifth round to score the spectacular KO victory, and claim the NABC Welterweight Championship and improve his record to 27-1, with 19 wins by way of knockout.

"Joshua Clottey is capable of beating any welterweight in the world," said Lou DiBella, president of DiBella Entertainment, Clottey's promoter. "His only loss was a disputed disqualification to a highly ranked fighter, and he has come back with a vengeance in his recent fights with DBE. Joshua would welcome the opportunity to fight any of the top welterweights in the world, including Cory Spinks, Zab Judah, and Antonio Margarito."
