Showtime PPV Workout Quotes - Laila Ali And Nelson Dieppa

26.07.04 - Former undisputed heavyweight champion Mike Tyson (50-4-2, 2 NC, 44 KOs) will take his initial step toward reclaiming a world title when he faces WBU International Champion Danny Williams (31-3, 26 KOs) in a 10-round showdown live on pay per view, Friday, July 30. The TYSON-WILLIAMS pay-per-view telecast from Freedom Hall in Louisville, Ky., will begin at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT. Straight Out Promotions will present the event, which will be distributed by SHOWTIME Pay Per View and carries a suggested retail price of $44.95.

Rounding out the SHOWTIME pay-per-view telecast, WIBA Super Middleweight Champion Laila Ali (17-0, 14 KOs) will make her second title defense when she meets Monica Nunez (9-1, 5 KOs) and Nelson Dieppa (20-1-2, 12 KOs) will defend his WBO junior flyweight crown for the fourth time when he battles undefeated Ulises Solis (18-0-1, 13 KOs)..

LAILA ALI

"I have never fought this soon after a fight (July 17), but I like it. The good thing about having fights so close together is that I do not have to worry about getting out of shape and then having to get back into shape. So it is sort of a luxury in some ways. I could not do it for certain opponents, but this seemed like a good opportunity for me to try it. I am looking forward to fighting Friday night and putting on a good show."

NELSON DIEPPA

"I do not know much about Ulises Solis at all, and have never watched a tape of him. But I hear he can box and move a little and is not a typical Mexican brawler. I have fought all over the world. He has fought all but one fight in Mexico. So I think I have a big advantage in that regard. This will not be an easy fight and I am not underestimating Solis, but I feel I am the best of the 108-pound world champions and would love to prove it. After Friday, I am going to call out all the other champions in my weight division. My goal is to unify the title."
