Chicago's 8 Count Set For Action Packed Card This Friday Night

CHICAGO, IL (March 26, 2008) Dominic Pesoli’s 8 Count Productions, HOME OF THE BEST IN CHICAGO BOXING, has announced final details of UNDISPUTED, this Friday night’s evening of world class professional boxing at the Aragon Ballroom. The Aragon Ballroom is located at 1106 W. Lawrence Ave., adjacent to the corner of Broadway and Lawrence on the north side of Chicago..

boxing in chicagoHeadlining UNDISPUTED is a light heavyweight title bout between Tallahassee native Tavoris Cloud and Mike Wood of St. Louis. The twelve round main event will be challenged for the USBA/NABA and NABO titles.

Cloud, amongst the fastest rising stars in boxing, has become a must-see attraction in the sport thrilling Chicagoland crowds over the last three years with his streak of devastating knockouts. His last two bouts, including his devastating fifth round knockout of Jose Luis Herrera last August, can be viewed at Youtube.com

The 26 year old Cloud brings a record of 17-0 with sixteen knockouts into the title bout with Wood. He is currently world ranked #5 by the IBF, #12 by the WBA and #9 by the WBO.

Wood brings a record of 19-6-1 (11KO’s) into the battle with Cloud and is riding a three bout winning streak. The 25 year old has been campaigning as a professional for five and half years.

Said Pesoli, “This is a terrific opportunity for Chicago fight fans to see a true world class talent like Tavoris against a tough, aggressive fighter like Wood. Although Tavoris is on the fast track for a world title bout, Wood should provide another true test for him.”

“In addition to the Cloud/Wood title bout, we’ve also got a terrific undercard at UNDISPUTED featuring two of Chicago’s brightest prospects, middleweight Louis Turner as well as heavyweight Carl Davis. We’re also bringing back middleweight newcomer Johnny Suarez from California in the opening bout.”

Former Chicago Golden Gloves champion Louis “KNOCK” Turner, 11-1 (7KO’s), will battle heavy handed Mexican veteran Jesus Valverde, 21-14-1 with sixteen knockouts, in a scheduled eight round middleweight bout.

In a special feature attraction Chicago based heavyweight Carl “IRON FIST” Davis will take on Rochester, New York’s Jermell Barnes in an eight round bout. Davis brings a record of 10-2 with eight knockouts into the bout with Barnes, 18-15-2 (4KO’s).

Also featured at UNDISPUTED is 22 year old newcomer Johnny “THE BULLDOG” Suarez who is scheduled in a four round bout. The Burbank, California resident, 1-0-1 (1KO) will face veteran Guy Packer of Battle Creek, Michigan.

Thursday night’s open to the public weigh-in for UNDISPUTED will take place at 7pm at Beef and Brandy Restaurant, 127 S. State in downtown Chicago.

In addition to Dominic Pesoli’s 8 Count Productions, UNDISPUTED is presented by A-TEAM Boxing along with Miller Lite and AeroMexico, the premier source of travel in Mexico.

The Master of Ceremonies for UNDISPUTED will be ring announcer Thomas Treiber.
