Valuev, Liakhovich Ready For Saturday
Wilfried Sauerland has praised Nikolai Valuev´s shape ahead of his WBA eliminator against Sergey Liakhovich on Saturday night. The German manager has no doubts the Russian Giant will celebrate his 48th victory and win a rematch with Ruslan Chagaev. “Both Valuev and Liakhovich are very strong,” he said at today´s press conference. “But I know that Niko has looked great in practice. For me he is the best heavyweight in the world – if he sticks to the game plan and uses his size advantage cleverly..”

The manager stressed the importance of Saturday´s clash. “There is a lot at stake,” he stated. “It´s make-or-break.” As always, the Russian Giant (47-1, 34 KOs) refused to comment on his opponent. “Just like Liakhovich I have trained very hard,” was all he said. “Everything else I will show in the ring.”
Meanwhile, the White Wolf (23-2, 14 KOs) voiced his confidence. “Everything went very well during the preparation,” the former WBO champion stated. “I am very optimistic for Saturday.” Manager Ivaylo Gotzev also fancies his fighter´s chances: “I have been working with him since 1996. Therefore I can say that we will see the best Liakhovich ever. After the fight he will have many new fans in Germany because Sergey Liakhovich is the best kept secret in heavyweight boxing.”
