Wilfredo Vazquez Jr. Arrives Ready to Fight At Cancun Night of Champions

Cancun, Mexico (December 13)— Young Puerto Rican featherweight sensation Wilfredo “WV2” Vazquez Jr. (9-0, 8 KO’s) arrived in Cancun Wednesday afternoon. The son of bantamweight legend Wilfredo Vazquez is ready to fight as he highlights the undercard of the Cancun Night of Champions this Saturday at the Plaza de Toros in beautiful Cancun, Mexico LIVE on DirecTV, Dish Network, In Demand, and TVN Pay-Per-View (Suggested Retail Price $29.95) with coverage beginning at 9pm ET/ 6pm PT..

The undefeated 23 year old will take on 25 year old Mexican Jorge Cardenas (9-4-3, 6 KO’s) in what will be an action packed 8 round featherweight special attraction. Legendary Wilfredo Vazquez (56-9-2, 41 KO’s) whose career spanned 21 years will be by his son’s side as the week progresses leading up to the biggest opportunity of WV2’s short career. Vazquez will showcase himself to a LIVE PPV audience full of avid boxing fans waiting to lay their eye’s the sport’s next great star.

The main event Saturday night features undefeated WBA Super Featherweight Champion Edwin “Dinamita” Valero (22-0, 22 KO’s) as he defends his belt against Zaid “El Exterminador” Zavaleta (17-2-2, 9 KO’s).

The night’s co-feature bout will be an explosive battle between 22 year old undefeated WBC Featherweight Champion Jorge “Golden Boy” Linares (24-0, 15 KO’s) defending his title against Mexican WBC number one contender Gamaliel “El Platano” Diaz (22-6-2, 9 KO’s).
