Mexico vs. Puerto Rico on Sept. 14

Popular Chicago super bantamweights Francisco “El Nino Azteca” Rodriguez and Ivan “The Baby Faced Assassin” Rodriguez will square off in a Mexican vs. Puerto Rican cross town showdown for the Illinois State Super Bantamweight Title on Friday, September 14th at the Congress Theater, it was announced today by Dominic Pesoli, President of 8 Count Productions..

The battle of the Rodriguez’s will be featured at “PRIDE”, another outstanding evening of world class professional boxing presented by Chicago’s 8 Count Productions, HOME OF THE BEST IN CHICAGO BOXING and Bob Arum Top Rank Inc. along with TCF Bank and TECATE Beer.

The 23 year old Francisco, 9-1 (6KO’s) is coming off a terrific win over Alejandro Garcia on July 13th at the Congress Theater.

Ivan, 26 years old, brings a record of 8-3-1 (3KO’s) into the battle with Francisco. He is coming off a dominating performance over Vineash Rungea also on July 13th at the Congress Theater.
