"There is no such thing as a day off or a holiday for me with my big fight coming up on Saturday,'' said the undefeated local fan favorite, Simms, of Norwalk, Conn., who defends his WBA super welterweight title against fellow unbeaten and No. 1-ranked Alcine, of Montreal by way of Haiti, in the main event of a world championship tripleheader.

The Simms-Alcine scheduled 12-rounder and the eagerly anticipated world title fight between IBF/IBO flyweight champion Vic Darchinyan of Sydney, Australia, via Armenia, and Filipino Nonito Donaire will be televised on SHOWTIME CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING (9 p.m. ET/PT, delayed on the west coast)..
A domestically non-televised third championship bout will also be presented Saturday when former IBF super flyweight champion Luis “El Demoledor” Perez, of Nicaragua, will collide with Genaro “Poblanito” Garcia, of Mexico, for the vacant IBF bantamweight title.
