Povetkin vs Donald: "To be or not to be"

Just nine days until up-and-coming heavyweight star Alexander Povetkin will lock horns with American veteran Larry Donald in Moscow. Today the pair came face-to-face at a press conference in the Russian capital. "This is a crucial point in Alexander´s career," co-manager Vlad Hrunov stated. "It will be a question of to be or not to be.."

Without a doubt, facing a proven fighter such as Donald (42-4, 24 KOs) will spell the highlight of Povetkin´s impressive career. "I am excited to fight him," the 2004 Olympic gold medal winner stated. "I won´t say much but will let my fists do the talking."

Co-promoter Kalle Sauerland has high goals for the former world amateur champion. "I expect after next Saturday we will be going after the Klitschkos," Sauerland said.

Povetkin´s record speaks for itself - the 27-year-old (12-0, 10 KOs) has knocked out all but two of his twelve opponents. He is already famed and feared in the world of boxing. "This will be the best of American boxing against the youth of Russia," Donald´s coach Collins Morgan lauded.

Donald, who will make his first ring appearance since dropping a WBA title eliminator against Nikolai Valuev back in October 2005, believes a win will put him back in line for a shot at the world title. "I am looking forward to the fight. It is going to be interesting," the 40-year-old stated. "I have been waiting for a big fight. I have not come to Moscow to lose. This is a fight between two Olympians."

The interest in Moscow has been gigantic. Over 75 journalists attended today´s press conference held at the headquarters of Russian news agency ITAR TASS. Povetkin is everywhere - some 2,000 posters have been distributed in the Russian capital.
