Cavallo goes for 15th straight

TRENTON (April 14, 2007) – Chuck Cavallo, “The Italian Assassin,” will put his undefeated boxing record on the line May 4 when he faces Michael Eatmon in a grudge rematch at The Fraternal Order of Eagles Lodge in Fairless Hills, Pa. The light heavyweight from Yardville won a unanimous six-round decision over Eatmon last August but afterwards the North Carolina fighter insisted that he should have won. Since then, Eatmon has repeatedly called for a rematch with Cavallo..

“His wish has come true,” said Nedal Abuhummad, Cavallo’s co-manager and co-promoter with Joey Eye Boxing for the May 4 card. “Eatmon has a lot to say. We’ll see what he has to say after Chucky takes him out. His wish is going to turn into a nightmare.”

The 22-year old Cavallo, who is 14-0 with five knockouts, is coming off an exciting 4th round TKO win over Mike Word on April 6 at the legendary Blue Horizon in Philadelphia. The scheduled six-round fight was highlighted by toe-to-toe action. But in the fourth round, Cavallo forced the referee’s hand with a major assault on Word. The victory was Cavallo’s second straight KO.

“Right now Chucky is on fire,” said Muggsy Episcopo, Cavallo’s trainer and co-manager. “He is putting it all together. Every time out he is better than the last time.” Episcopo trains Cavallo at his Mar-Teri Gym in Trenton.

The May 4 card will also feature up-and-coming super middleweight star Richard Stewart of New Castle, DE. against William Santiago. Stewart’s bout comes on the heels of a terrific second round TKO bombing over Santiago Hillario in March, Stewart’s fourth win in a row. Stewart’s overall record is 12-2-1 with seven knockouts.

In addition, Trenton middleweight boxer Terrance Miller is looking to rebound from a September loss at Madison Square Garden, a brutal bout that ended with a fourth round TKO defeat at the hands of Simon O’Donnell. The show will include several other bouts, as well.

The Fraternal Order of Eagles Lodge in Fairless Hills is located at 920 Trenton Road, about 10 minutes west of Trenton, N.J. Tickets for the show range are $40 (general admission), $60 (ringside), and $75 (VIP). They can be purchased through Center Stage Tickets, 800-677-6499, or by calling Nedal Boxing, 609-209-5642.
