Barrera-Pacquiao In Just 2 Short Weeks; Get Your Tickets Now!

05.11.03 - By Carlos Kalinchuk: Who would have thunk it? That’s exactly what most Texas boxing fans are saying since Golden Boy Promotions announced that “King of the Featherweights” Marco Antonio Barrera 57-3 was coming to the Alamodome in San Antonio to fight up and coming knock out artist Manny Pacquiao 37-2-1. No one doubted Barrera or Pacmans mettle to sign on the dotted line, but for a fight of this magnitude to venture into Texas is unheard of. Not since Julio Cesar Chavez fought Pernell “Sweet-pea” Whitaker to a draw (yeah right) has Texas seen a fight of this caliber. The fight is being appropriately billed as “Clash of The Titans.” There are many questions that will be answered at the conclusion of this showdown. Can the heavy-handed Pacquiao topple the battle tested and proven stylist in Marco Antonio Barrera? Will Barrera put on a teachers cap as he takes the younger Pacquiao to school? These answers and more will be answered on November 15 when both warriors lace up the leather to see who will come out victorious. Also on the card, hometown legend “Jessie” James Leija 44-6-2 will take on Fernando Mena 17-4-2 in the co-featured bout of the evening. There are 14,000 tickets for this show that are unbelievably priced between $25-75. Tickets ranging from $150-$300 are also available. They are on sale now and can be purchased at online at, in person at the Alamodome Box Office, or by phone by calling 210-224-9600. Tickets are going fast so get your tickets early! Don’t delay!
