"I believe that I am a lot smarter when it comes to being in the ring. Last year I think I had a problem with smothering my punches. Last year I just went in there tried to blow a guy out. Now, I am more patient and I allow the fight to develop naturally in my favor. It's more about learning from your mistakes and I am a lot more experienced because of it," explained Kauffman.
Travis also took the time out to discuss his relationship with two time heavyweight champion, Hasim Rahman. "Rahman gave me a lot of words of wisdom and he is a big influence in my life. He is also a good friend. He told me how stay focused and that I can be the heavyweight champion of the world because he knows I have the potential."
If successful this Saturday night, Kauffman will be slated for a card in Kansas City MO in late March and multiple TV fights to follow. "Look out for me because 2007 is going to be a big year. I'm looking to have multiple TV dates and put my skills on display for the whole world."
