“The Homecoming III” Friday October 16 at Miccosukee

Miami, FL: On Friday, October 16, 2009 the popular series of Boxeo TELEMUNDO returns to the Miccosukee Resort and Gaming in Miami, FL with the event being billed “The Homecoming III”. In the main event former WBA World and current WBO Latin Welterweight Champion Diosbelys “Black Money” Hurtado faces WBC Latin Jr.Welter Champion Antonio Pitalua in a bout schedule for 12 rounds with Hurtado’s title at stake..

Hurtado of Santiago, Cuba will be making his 3rd appearance at Miccosukee this year, on April 3rd he defeated Arturo Morua by split decision to claim the WBO Latin Title and on June 12 he beat veteran Manuel Garnica by unanimous decision to successfully defend his title. Overall this will mark his twelve bout at the Miami resort, he is currently ranked #11 by the WBO and brings a record of 42-3-1-25 KO’s.

Pitalua of Mexico City, Mexico by the way of Monteria, Colombia is ranked #9 by the WBC in the Lightweight division, this year on April 4th he lost a world title bid to WBC Lightweight Champion Edwin Valero via second round KO, on August 14 he moved up in weight to impressively defeat Jose “Gallo” Reyes by knock out in the 6 round to claim the WBC Latin Jr. Welter Title in the same ring at the Miccosukee Resort to improve his record to 47-4-41 KO’s.

The winner of this bout should be in line for another World Title opportunity. A total of 8 bouts are schedule, a very interested undercard will be announced shortly.
